Million Dollar Reload: A Sinner's Saint
Million Dollar Reload's early career and their debut album Anthems of a Degeneration somehow totally passed me by. I've noticed that as I've got older I've sometimes been a little prejudiced about many things but in particular new bands. So in reality I was fully aware of Million Dollar Reload's existence but just couldn't be bothered to engage with them even though somehow I possess an mp3 of "Get it Up" from the first album which, now I've actually listened to it is great…as is A Sinner's Saint. Well, it's not great like say, Led Zep 4 or any other all-time classics but it is very good company.
I would suggest that the term which adequately describes A Sinner's Saint is shit-kickin' rock "n" roll. From start to finish this album rocks in a way that all logic says it shouldn't in 2012. Shouldn't all bands be pumping out mediocre r'n'b for the undiscerning masses to get their groove on to? Thank goodness they don't. Quite simply, Million Dollar Reload invoke the spirit of AC/DC, Motley Crue and Thin Lizzy and make great songs that really should be heard in either sleazy bars or huge arenas. There are numerous top notch songs on here with no need for the skip button. This is one of the more pleasant surprises in 2012.

Million Dollar Reload: A Sinner's Saint Posted by Steven Reid, SoT Staff Writer on 2012-07-21 18:31:49 My Score:
Keen to keep the good vibes of their debut release Anthems of a Degeneration going, Belfast outfit Million Dollar Reload have stocked up with more ammunition for the shit-kicking A Sinner's Saint. While that debut hit home with a raw enthusiasm, album number two finds an altogether more confident set of songs suggesting that Million Dollar Reload are about to really step into the limelight. Taking the spirit of AC/DC and Def Leppard and adding a hefty boot in the ass of Skin, Roadstar and unmasked era Kiss (yes Gene some of us actually liked the music Paul was writing while you were off stroking your ego...), A Sinner's Saint has the sort of cocky swagger that all true rock and roll rabble rousers need to raise themselves from nearly men to true contenders.
Grab an earful of the up and at 'em opener "Fight The System", the knowing groove of "Blow Me Away", or the give it everything you've got chant of "Can't Tie Me Down" and you'll be totally convinced that Million Dollar Reload are the real deal. Be warned however that like all of the best kick ass music, A Sinner's Saint works best at kick ass volume! The guitars rip and scream, while the vocal attack spits and snarls. However when M$R want to reign tings in they can, with the classy string infused "Broken" and the more deliberate stomp of "Wicked" proving that this is an act with a few different strings to their bow. That said, it is when the foot is put to the floor that the Million Dollar boys hit full stride, with an endless stream of classy, trashy and utterly irresistible rockers such as "Headrush" and "I Am Rapture" leaving you in no doubt of where the good times lie.
There's an argument that Million Dollar Reload rely heavily on other acts for their inspiration, but when they channel the best sounds of bands that we all know and love, give them an ever so slightly up to date twist and sprinkle on a dusting of in your face attitude, then the results are belting. Time to let A Saint's Sinner lead you astray!
