I first played this one quite loudly at approximately 0930 on a Sunday morning. I can only imagine how pleased my neighbours were with that situation! Heikousen are remarkably difficult to quantify in terms of genre; there are elements of thrash in there, certainly a bit of hardcore, some punk and traditional metal. It's not something you'd play at a dinner party with friends but when played loud Parallels certainly does a job of waking up even the sleepiest of heads.
It's pretty short which these days is quite cool, nothing outlives its welcome and despite the bewildering set of styles, this is one of the more intriguing debuts I've heard this year and if you really want to annoy those around you, simply turn "Tax Fraud" up to the metaphorical 11.
