Enabler: All Hail The Void

"Hardcorish" music tends to bore the living shit out of me. I really don't know what it is, but for some reason I start to zone out and start thinking about washing the dishes or other mundane tasks when I'm listening to it. It's weird but it happens to me anytime I hear the stuff. As a result Enabler really didn't have much of a chance with me from the get-go as they are a band with a LOT of hardcore elements to them both vocally and musically. Despite repeated listens to the album, I just could not get into it, no matter how hard I tried-the musicianship is good and there are some hooky elements to the songs, but damn, it just didn't connect with me on any level. If you are into this sort of thing, I'm sure you'll find plenty to enjoy on All Hail the Void, but for me the only song I could even remotely get into was the infectious "Speechless". Other than that shining moment of a song, I was bored to tears.
