Vesperian Sorrow: Stormwinds of Ages

Texan's Vesperian of Sorrow are an interesting band-They are a cross between melodic death metal and black metal with some orchestral flourishes just for good measure. The songs are generally complex moving from slow to fast and back again, with the vast majority of the tracks midpaced. Most of the songs sound majestic, almost like an orchestra of death with some female vocals thrown into the mix occasionally. It's not easy listening as a lot of different soundscapes are entered into, which will probably turn off the average metal listener. Those with patience however will be rewarded with a fantastic listening experience.
