It comes as no surprise to find out that Shaped By Fate are fellow countrymen, hailing from South Wales, it has become synonymous as a hot bed for talent in the last few years. Brandishing their style of Hardcore/Metal with Rock sensibilities it works an absolute treat. The vocals are fucking brutal, guitars, punishing and this just begs you to get in the pit to well and truly go and fuck shit up! However, among all the madness and brutality there is an underlying melee of intricate guitar work almost buried in the background. This is so much more than just another hardcore band shouting their frustrations at a nonchalant world, Paul Fortescue brandishes some throat ripping vocals on 'Give Me Hope' which makes way for the instrumental 'Strolling Bones'. Shaped By Fate combine brutal, intricate, prog infused guitar perfectly, don't believe the teen mags who pigeon hole them in the same breath as Bring Me The Horizon they are certainly a lot deeper than that. I Fear The World Has Changed is an exercise on successfully combining differing styles of music and coming up with something unexpectedly brilliant…Like making an Elephant make love to a Pig this time it has succeeded in the birth of something beautifully brutal.
