Spectrum of Death is a re-release of the `classic`album by Morbid Saint. Personally I had never heard of these guys prior to being assigning this release, so honestly I wasn`t sure what to expect. What I was not expecting was an absolutely blistering thrash album that stands up there with much of the stuff that the Big 4 released in their heyday.
Morbid Saint musically speaking falls somewhere between early Slayer and Megadeth. If you think Reign in Bloodera slayer mixed with Rust in Peace era Megadeth, you wouldn`t be too far off. The band overall never quite reaches the lofty heights of those bands, but they come awful close.
If you like any of the Big 4 or thrash metal in general, do yourself a favour and check this one out as soon as it drops on June 19.
