Moonreich: Curse Them EP
Based off just this little EP, this aural hybrid of Swedish/French black metal troupe can be placed amongst above all those groups ripping off the 90s and below all those groups that have successfully transcended black metal altogether, so they're in good company of those bands who hold true to the genre's roots but can still be genuine about it. So, while you won't hear anything you won't expect, you can still thoroughly enjoy the tempo changes and tasteful, upper pitched fifths of the double-bass heavy "The Serpent Presaging..." or the punchy title track, or the great cover of "Deathwish" from the post-punk group Christian Death. Really, an intermediary EP serves the purpose of convincing the listener that he should get their next album, and they've done this. Alors, maintenant il faut que j'attends leur album prochain, et j'espère qu'il sera tout aussi maléfique et déchaîné. Cheers.
