Greek hard rock/metal act 4Bitten return with their sophomore release Delirium on Rocksector, and it's a solid if unspectacular collection of female fronted heavy rock that will certainly get your pulse driving yet won't scratch your itch for originality. George Maroulis' guitar work throughout is pretty damn crunchy, as he borrows from late 70's/early 80's hard rock & metal as well as some nu-metal tones, and Fofi Roussos' vocals are sultry and emotional on tracks such as "Let It All Burn" and "Burning the Candle". "Live 4 Today" is one of the more 'nu-metal' flavored tracks here, but it's mixed with some Lynyrd Skynyrd styled Southern Rock elements that make for a bizarre combination. On "A Different Fate" those Southern Rock influences again appear, and this one features a solid vocal from Fofi, while the title track is a fist pumping heavy rock piece littered with great riffs and memorable hooks.
Delirium is solid all around, and it's obvious that 4Bitten have the swagger and the talent to really make a name for themselves. I'm thinking though that they just need a little extra something to help elevate them, probably in the songwriting department, and take them to the next level. This CD won't set the world on fire, but you can tell the band is on to something and just need that little extra spark.
