Kentucky Bridgeburners: Hail Jesus

The CD kicks off with the title track "Hail Jesus"- I do not have a clue what they mean by this, but the song itself is one great rockin tune. R&B , Gospel and Punk rock all melting into one. Blaine Cartwright is the mastermind behind this project; now we all know Blaine as the frontman for Nashville Pussy. Kentucky Bridgeburners is his latest project.

Blaine says about the album "Hail Jesus is the Gospel album I have always wanted to make". Now when I think Gospel a completely different style of music springs to mind. So in the least this can be called a different approach to making Gospel music. Growing up in the Punk era, Blaine's major influences musically were of course the punk bands.

Hail Jesus is an album for a wide audience who love rock music in its purest forms. Lyrically to me I don't think it is too Gospel like, sure it deals with the Word but not in a sense that you can be turned away by this if you are not a Christian. On the other hand the music is not what one might expect in a album dealing with the Word but it is absolutely catchy and easy to listen to. Great riffing throughout.

Rockin from start to finish, more or less you could call this the Gospel version of music like Dr Feelgood or George Thorogood. The music has drive, emotion and is a great listen for long drives through the country. Beware not to hit the throttle too steep. It was real fun listening to this album.

Just 37:00 minutes though it is rather short more of an EP with 10 tracks.
