Mr. Big: Live From the Living Room

I can't honestly imagine who thought that the concept of Mr. Big in acoustic mode was a good idea let alone recording it and putting it out as an album. Recorded in Tokyo this must be the nadir of the band's career and must place a question mark over the wisdom of reforming if they are so bereft of ideas already.

Other then "Stranger in My Life" and "All The Way Up" this is a supremely dispiriting experience. The acoustic noodling on "Around the World" almost made me want to throw my Ipod away such is the sheer awfulness of that particular effort. Mr. Big's music doesn't naturally lend itself to being played in this fashion except for that hit which is already laid back and atypical of the rest of their material anyhow.

Deeply disappointing.
