Frozen Rain: Ahead of Time

This East Flanders, Belgian band is made up of Kurt Vereecke who formed the band to "make his dream come true, of recording an AOR and melodic rock album". The band includes: Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz, on vocals; Rik Priem, plays guitar; Hans Vereecke, plays drums; Jurgen Vitrier, plays keyboards; and Vincent De Laat, plays bass. "During the recordings more and more musicians got involved in the Frozen Rain project, including some of Kurt's personal idols such as Tommy Denander (Radioactive), Steve Newman (Newman) and Daniel Flores (Mind's Eye)", (Excerpts from: http://www.frozenrain.be/, 2012).

Two words describe the music that Frozen Rain delivers: Bon Jovi.

This sounds so much like Bon Jovi that you could swear they were listening to Bon Jovi in the studio, during the mixing of the album. From the cool keys that open the first track, "Believe It Or Not", to the concentration on the subject line of getting through tough times and coming out ahead. Each and every song builds like a Bon Jovi song, which is not a bad idea. Emulating one of the most successful touring bands in the USA and the world for that matter can help you tap into their global fan base and help sell more albums. But they don't really branch out beyond that sound.

If you like, or for most of their fans, love Bon Jovi, give this a listen, I think you'll like it.
