Nightvision: Consequence Of Sin

This hard rocking quartet made an immediate impact with 2009 debut As The Lights Go Down, the start of their relationship with the Rocksector label that really does showcase some of the very best of the UK's up and coming rock bands. Gigs with Blaze Bayley and Fozzy have exposed their music to a wider audience and Consequence of Sin, released during the latter part of 2011, sees them building on the success of the debut and growing in stature and confidence.

Urgent riffs and razor sharp solos from guitarist Bolda are strongly highlighted throughout with the rhythm section of brothers Dean and Daryl Hocking providing the solid backbone of the Nightvision sound. That leaves frontman Dave McKee's distinctive vocals to deliver the lyrics with a winning combination of clarity and melody. From the no-holds-barred muscular crunch of opening pairing "So Many Lies" and "Sob Story" to the Theory Of A Deadman –slickness of "What Makes You Bad" and "Nothing To Lose" Nightvision hit the spot with their catchy hooks and insistent, upbeat tempos that sound both fresh and inspired. Maintaining the momentum right through to the end of the CD the slightly more mid-tempo "Petrol and Practise" finds Bolda soloing away madly either side of McKee's stuttering, memorable chorus and is followed by the contemporary high octane rocker "Mirrors and Smoke" that is yet another winning combination of enthusiasm and power.

A shining example of talent and determination, Nightvision are a band that has the potential to stand out from the pack and be genuine contenders on the modern rock scene.
