Rising: To Solemn Ash

Rising is a three piece Danish outfit from the capitol of Danmark Copenhagen. That they have only released their debut album in 2012 comes as a great surprise in the world of Metal diehards. Why you might ask? Well, they may not be known worldwide yet,but in Europe Rising already have an extensive fanbase. Considering their performances this not surprising, as they know how to put on a show.

Now back to what this review is about, it is the debut album To Solemn Ash. Listening to theCD it came to me that this title is absolutely appropriate for the music. Firmly based on the grounds of older top European acts as Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy. Beware guys, as at times the guitar work sounds very close to what the aforementioned bands have done. Listening to the heavy riffing, clean soloing and pounding of the drums, a nifty little bit longer one can also hear bit and pieces of Black Sabbath. Lyrically, and going by the song titles most definitely.

To Solemn Ash is a debut album that these Danish lads can be very proud of. I have just one tiny remark. Open up the sound and build it wider. This probably suits your music very very well. I think (yes sometimes I do ) it all is a tiny bit too closed, too tight, but nevertheless it sounds great.
