Truthseeker: Weightless at Dawn

Truthseeker is made up of the duo, James Brendan Hayter, songwriter, bass and guitar; along with Alex Fewell, on drums. "'Weightless at Dawn' is their first release, and it is "simply an expression of both nostalgia and struggle; the nostalgia I have of ... more staying up until dawn every night and the struggle to retain that kind of passion throughout life. The record is about being young at heart." http://truthseeker1.bandcamp.com/album/weightless-at-dawn.

Great sonic guitar and bass work teamed with solid thunder drums. Wish there were lyrics with it, but I guess that may happen with the full album release next year. Good introductory debut for this band full of powerful chords and rhythms. With a lead vocalist and a stronger theme behind it this will be a great new band to watch and listen to in the future.

Track Listing:

"Daybreak" is excellent and full of great electric mixed with acoustic guitar, slowly thumping drums, power bass chords and a slow Rush – like rhythm.

"Permafrost" is full of more powerful chords, those smashing drums and solid bass. More of that Rush sound, without vocals. Passed the mid-way point the pace slows and the sound drops off to heavy, low bass slowly trickling over the airwaves, before the symphony of electric guitars picks up to close out the song.

"Storm" is full of dark skies and threatening electric guitar rhythms and crashing drum waves.

"Submerged" is full of soft soothing keyboards and orchestration.

"Through the Waves" brings more power threads of electric guitar rhythms with drums.
