Featuring members of Monster Magnet and The Atomic Bitchwax, this hard rock/metal band are definitely not rookies. And that is fully reflected on this rockfest of an album.
Combining the best of 70s southern rock and 90s alternative rock/metal, Invisible Empire is a rock music powerhouse full of southern grooves and early metal influences combined with the introspective attitude of much 90s alternative rock melancholia. And, not surprisingly, this combination works extremely well.
In addition to the groove and the drive, most of the tracks feature quite catchy vocal melodies, nicely delivered by the vocalist, who calls himself Sunshine, whose voice sounds like a blend of Billy Corgan, Eric Wagner and Freddy Mercury, which is definitely one of the major attractions of the album.
Full of drive and groove, Invisible Empire should appeal to fans of southern rock/metal, stoner metal and sludge metal, and especially fans of Svölk, Trouble and Led Zeppelin should find this release attractive.
