Uigg: Of Moose and Men

Of Moose and Men is bog standard; nothing new at all. Opener 'Endless Suffocation' sets the template for the entire album: riff followed by another riff followed by another riff etc. until the cycle has been run through enough times that even the band get bored of hearing them time and again. At about track five, rigor mortis sets in, the ears turn off and the racket becomes deathly silence, lacklustre, impotent, and unimpressive. The pounding is endless, the playing is tight, and the structures are solid but every one of these tracks is predictable. But kudos for sticking to their guns. Okay, they are as hard and heavy as a concrete cuppa and make no pretentious claims to be anything other than what they are, but a bit of variation or even innovation wouldn't go amiss. Something to maintain the listener's interest at least...
