Guitars - Dylan DiLella, Vocals - Doug Moore, Bass - Erik Malave, Drums - Alex Cohen; these are the guys that make up Pyrrhon. I have really been thinking how to categorize this debut album of Pyrrhon. That would not be that hard I heard you say, call it Extreme tech Death Metal with a flavor of Doom and Prog, a little sniff of Black Metal with an eclectic twist. Well that is that, quite a mouthful huh?
I can see you all thinking now, that is not a category, and you are correct, but Pyrrhon will not be captured in one specific genre of the rock scene. Now I can tell you I am not the biggest fan when it comes to Growling and such, and it just seems to me that in the end it will only destroy your Voice. All vocals here are deep throat sounds, stomach sounds even, as I said that's not really my thing but that is only me. What I found more interesting was the music. This is well thought over with loads of energy, but the extreme vocals mask the lyrical content so I really don't know what the songs are all about.
I can clearly notice the effort the band have put in to deliver a grand debut. As I see it these boys will do best in a death metal environment, after this debut album there is no doubt we will hear more of Pyrrhon in the near future.
