Stanley, James Lee and Cliff Eberhardt: All Wood and Doors

This is an acoustic guitar album capturing 12 of the best songs from the legendary 60's rock band The Doors. The songs are sung and played by Cliff Eberhardt and James Lee Stanley, who also collaborated on the critically acclaimed "All Wood and Stones", which presented 11 classic Rolling Stones songs.

On this album, Eberhardt and Stanley, are accompanied by Peter Tork (The Monkees), Timothy B Schmit, (The Eagles), Laurence Juber, (Paul McCartney & Wings), Paul Barrere, (Little Feat), Scott Breadman, (Rippingtons and Lindsay Buckingham), Chad Watson, (David Arkenstone and Janis Ian), and very special guests John Densmore and Robby Krieger, original members of the Doors.

This is a slow paced, well delivered with emotion and reverence compilation of acoustic guitar, percussion, and great vocals, capturing the lyrics and music designed and created by The Doors. "Crystal Ship", "Riders on the Storm", "Light My Fire" and "The End" are easily the highlights for me. "The End" opens with an almost Crosby, Stills, and Nash vocal harmony taking you right back to the era. The pace of the tracks match the intense power projected by this band from their creation. This is a great reflective remembrance of the power that once filled the air of radio stations throughout the world, during my generation's early development. Although it is a good reflection it lacks the true power delivered with the vocal presence and personality of the late Jim Morrison.
