Calderón, Jorge: Blue City and On Mardi Gras Day

Jorge Calderón, a Grammy-award-winning musician, vocalist, songwriter and producer has released two singles "Blue City" and "On Mardi Gras Day for the independent label Inside Recordings, founded by Jackson Browne. The songs will be issued in a bundled release on September 6, 2011, through the Inside Recordings online store.

"Both tunes feature Jorge on vocal, guitar and bass. Ry Cooder joins in on slide guitar, Luis Conte on percussion and Don Heffington on drums. These two songs would help make an excellent album. 'Blue City' captures the feeling many have been feeling all year long in 2011. The emotions in the lyrics and Jorge's delivery are perfect. The music is just as warm, helping to relieve some of the tension and pressure many are feeling. The slide guitar, percussion, guitar, drums and bass are perfectly delivered by pros.

'On Mardi Gras Day' helps take your mind off the pain and blues with thoughts of the fun we used to all have pre – economic slowdown. These songs act as an emotional refuge and relief from the hot summer sun and discontent that has settled in throughout the country. You just can't stay unhappy with Thomas' Hammond filling the track with light and leading the way to fun.
