Hero's Last Rite: Inevitable Is The End

Canadian Thrash/Hardcore band, Hero's Last Rite, harkens back tothe Classic Thrash Metal era of Slayer and Kreator with a Hardcore attitude, ala Hatebreed. Heavy, brooding and detuned guitar riffs with power drumming and angrily spouted vocals instantly reminds one of a better day gone by when Metal was fresh and growing speed. Hero's Last Rite combine the Thrash elements of speed, power and heaviness needed to bash home their point.

Their latest effort, Inevitable Is The End contains 11 tracks of pure Metal. From the CD opener, "I Dwell Within" to "Shame"to "No Regard", the bashing is brought with much angst and there isn't much relenting until CD closer, "Bleed" totally shifts gears and catches you off guard. Another interesting bit is the track, "Gale Storm" which is a glowing tribute to Metal's fallen hero, Dimebag Darrell, complete with eerie media clips from that fateful and senseless shooting.

All and all, Hero's Last Rite aren't reinventing the Metal wheel here with Inevitable Is The End and there isn't much that you haven't heard before, but it is a fairly solid CD and should make a bunch of Metal fans happy. Much of the record doesn't really hit home or remain memorable, but it isn't bad either. Middle of the road, I would say. This is very old school in delivery with a nod to Slayer as being their most obvious of influence. Thrash and Death Metal fans, check it out.
