Flaming Row: Elinoire

Flaming Row is a band-project formed by the German musician Martin Schnella (Steel Protector, Cast In Silence) which began in 2008. This project, which is a concept album unfolding an intricate story using many featured artists from major bands from prog and rock to sing and add instrumentation.

The main band is made up of Martin Schnella, on guitars, bass, keyboards, mandolin, banjos, lead and backing vocals; Mark Arnold, on keyboards and saxophone; Kiri Geile, on female lead and backing vocals; and Niklas Kahl, on drums.

This is similar to Arjen Lucassen's projects in that a story is laid out before you, (I won't give any of the details away, but it is so relevant to global current events, but taken down to a more personal level for one family), with the help of guest singers and artists from around the world.

This is an incredible story supported by well written lyrics, music and exceptional performances by all in attendance. One of the best and only projects of its kind this year. The music is dynamic and spans the range from straight ahead rock, folk, prog, to heavy metal. Everyone can find at least one or two tracks that they will surely like.

Elinoire's Theme, Do You Like Country Grandpa?, Initiation Fugato, Overture, and A Place to Revive Your Soul were the immediate standouts for me. The music is excellent!
