"Portuguese street urchin gang giving early Iron Maiden the run for their money.
Raw, gritty, in your face heavy metal with balls, delivering a massive dose of nostalgic epicness from the glorious past. Sung in Portuguese." For once, the press people appear to have it right. There's no need for vast hyperbole for this, another of the limited to 1000 copies CDs from Stormspell Records.
If we were living in 1980 there would be a lot of people creaming themselves of this one as it takes the essence of the NWOBHM and gives it an exotic twist being sung in Portuguese. Midnight Priest don't win any prizes for originality but if you have a hankering for early Priest, Maiden, Accept, Halloween etc you may want to invest as it is a very pleasant way to pass time. After Oratory who released a couple of records on Limb Music a few years ago, Midnight Priest have become my favourite Portuguese band.
