Sometimes, particularly these days, one gets somewhat hung up if things don't sound utterly pristine as is certainly the case with Thy Blackened Kingdom which is a shame as the Iowan have lots going for them. They are super-aggressive in an Amon Amarth kind of way which is always a good thing, they have some decent tunes ("Death Foretold" is excellent which is probably why it opens proceedings,)they play well but they are undermined in particular by the drummer sounding like he is bashing the proverbial biscuit tins.
I'm tempted to do one of those annoying, "if you like this, you may like..." that Amazon and such like do. So, if you like Celtic Frost you may like The Horde.
