Three singers and their third album…the odds should prove third time lucky and judging by the massive anthems and American Arena Rock sound things seem to be heading in the right direction for Crash Diet at last.
Taking their sound straight off 1980's Sunset Strip this album has the same quality and sound of most of their peers. Think Motley Crue, Skid Row with a more punk edge and a sprinkling of Scandinavian attitude and you get the picture. With sing along chorus's to songs like "Generation Wild" & the gasoline infused "Rebel" its straight ahead top down cruising music, however how much top down cruising you can do in Scandinavia is questionable. "Native Nature" could have been an outtake from any Seb Bach recording session and certainly tips the hat firmly in the afore mentioned direction. If you like it sleazy and dirty with big hair chorus's wah wah solos and the odd lighters in the air moments then this will be right up your street. Crash Diet delivers a slice of L.A from the streets of Sweden and does it quite well. With so many pretend plastic pop stars out there (I'm looking in your direction Black Veil Brides) who are more style & eyeliner over talent it's a change to find a band that are the real deal and perform with integrity, attitude and true talent. It certainly seems third time lucky for these guys and hell, they deserve a break.
