Sand Snowman: Nostalgia Ever After

Sand Snowman is an artist who creates a very unique – for this modern age – mood with his music. Preferring acoustic instruments over electric ones, which are used sparingly, he weaves a trance-like web of intricate textural meshing that, miraculously, often sounds light and wistful. That is the over-riding feel of this album, despite its darker moments: light, wistful music to soothe the senses, abetted by the choice of slow to mid tempo. Helping to beautify the music is the beautiful female singing: often developing into harmonies and two-parts, this is the feature that coalesces the whole of the album into an enjoyable foray.

If you can remember that far back, this one is for lovers of artists like the Incredible String Band: if not, then the band label's own description of "folk-psych, wyrd folk, prog-folk-psych" may give you some clues but won't fully convey the beauty of some of this music.
