My Wild Heaven: My Wild Heaven

My Wild Heaven describes themselves as "Aggressive Sci-Fi Rock, forged from primitive Prog/Metal/Hardcore riffage". "King Crimson meets early-Who meets the Spiders from Mars. Drenched with Mellotrons and madness".

This Tampa based band is made up of; Bill Bechtel on guitar, keyboards, and lead and background vocals, Ed Lowery on drums, and Robert "Red" Redmond on bass.

The band has included special guests, like "Jeff Braden (a former student of Bechtel's who contributes the second guitar solo on "The Life and Times of General Jacket"), Ryan Danger on proxy triangle, and Josh Young on jumbus banjo, Irish bouzouki, and additional background vocals".

The recording almost sounds like it comes directly from the 70s. Rocking guitars, vocals and drums with synths surrounding the soundscape. If you need to drift back to the era of fast rocking early punk this might just be your album of choice. "Lil' Pumpkin Porsche", "The Ritual Dance of the Lizards", and the instrumental tracks were the highlights for me. The track list on the CD, and are not sequenced the same.
