Not much is known about Profanatica besides the fact this is their second output. Apparently, their debut was considered too clean, so the answer was to come up with a dirty one, and this was well accomplished!
Disgusting Blasphemies Against God is a true blasphemous black metal disc. It is a machine that is built like a bulldozer, and it is ready to crush the Vatican! The first thing you will notice is that Profanatica is a massive wall of sound hitting right from the beginning. This is not subtle music, but rather a kick in the jaw and in your face type of thing. These guys did not care too much about the harmonies of the melodious aspects while writing their songs. The lead instrument behind this all is the bass. It is loud, fat, crushing and buzzing all along the album. Then you have the wicked and sick rasps, spitting out all of the blasphemies; and these are sometimes announcing the coming track too. The pounding drum beats both tempos: the fast and the moderate one. The buzzing guitar tones are somewhat distorted and add bit of a harmonies in this hellish piece of crushing-ness. Still, I enjoyed a couple of the moderate (in pace and intensity) compositions like: "Pious Piece of Shit" and "Angel With Cock". My overall favorite is the doomish track #6, "Covered in Black Shit".
This is dirty and crushing blasphemies, period!
