Between The Buried and Me: The Silent Circus

Although Between The Buried and Me is comprised of former members of Bury Your Dead, Azazel and Prayer For Cleansing and although there are a number of technically impressive maneuvers throughout the release, The Silent Circus lacks focus. At times it's difficult to figure out exactly where the guys are trying to go and how if they'll ever get there. For instance, "Ad A Dglgmut," starts as unbridled thrash, then breaks into a beautifully-rendered but largely unnecessary break that feels like it might be more appropriate to power metal than the concoction these guys have served up. There's something to be said for diversity, sure, but there's something more to be said for cohesiveness.
