Debauchery: Kill Maim Burn

This is the second time that Debauchery has dipped into the well to re-release their debut disc. Initially put out in 2003 and given an update a couple years later, now we have the third version with bonus live tracks added. No matter how you slice it though this is a very average and simplistic death metal disc with just about nothing to offer.

Tired guitar riffs, boring, unintelligible vocals and listless songwriting contribute to a torturous disc that really is hard to find any worthwhile points to bring out about it. At least they had the forthright vision to print the lyrics in the booklet otherwise I might never have learned what to do with human intestines after the kill.

This is one of the few times when I cannot fathom a reason to even listen to a CD but then again I am not a sadist. Lead singer and guitarist Thomas (The Blood God) Gurrath lost his job as a teacher as officials say that his music made him unsafe to be around children. As much as there is something wrong with that, after listening to this album there is something right about it too!
