Neige et Noiceur: La Seigneurie des Loups

Neige et Noiceur are from Quebec and are considered to be leaders of the Québécois scene which I am sure is huge. All sarcasm aside, one can see why they are apparently held in high esteem. They mix black metal with folk influences to interesting effect and with three songs clocking in at over the ten minute mark they give themselves a fulsome chance to explore their themes.

That said, as my French is decidedly rusty I'm not overly sure what those themes are but musically Neige et Noiceur have more than enough going on to satisfy the listener. Surprisingly, despite being one of those dreaded one man band black metal albums,La Seigneurie des Loups hangs together well and actually has bit of a band feel about and if you're looking for something to get you through the cold winter nights you may wish to invest in this one.
