Volbeat is a new band hailing from Denmark, formed by guitarist and vocalist Michael Poulsen formerly of Dominus. Rebel Monster is just a 6-minute promo disc with two tracks from their debut album The Strength/ The Sound/ The Songs. It's not easy to make an accurate judgement on a new band with only two songs barely reaching 6 minutes. However, the music presented here reeks of classic rock-oriented melodies, a very expressive singer who at times tends to go for 'modern' singing styles which are questionable in the context of the tunes, and a very thick guitar, bass and drum combination, courtesy of producer Jacob Hansen (Invocator, Raunchy).
The songs are filled with guitar crunch and drum punch, often marked by highly melodic vocal lines, except for the briefly stuttered fast-singing on "Rebel Monster", which is otherwise a very melodic piece. Rebel Monster Records defines Volbeat as Hetfield meets Elvis meets Life of Agony, which is hard to imagine. I guess the best thing for you to do is to go to the band's website and check them out. A full listen of their debut should give you a good idea. So far I'm undecided.
