If you can imagine Trevor Rabin-era Yes, The Flower Kings, Spock’s Beard, Big Big Train and post-Gabriel Genesis all wrapped into a melodic bouncing ball of proggy goodness, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what Time Frames sounds like. The third full-length album from Sweden’s Jonas Lindberg & The Other Side is more of a solo album than a band project, with Lindberg handling most of the instruments (and lead vocals on two tracks). Jonas Sundqvist and Jenny Storm handle lead vocals on the three other tracks, and all three sing on the closing and soaring 17-and-a-half-minute epic, “The Wind.” Lindberg is a better musician than vocalist, but his songwriting chops shine as brightly as his better-known Swedish prog peers.
