Tidal Wave: The Lord Knows

There is no shortage of excellent heavy rock bands from Sweden and now we can add another to the list, the outstanding Tidal Wave. The band formed in 2010 releasing three albums thus far:

Blueberry Muffin (2019)
The Lord Knows (2023)
Volume Tree (2026)

Heavy fuzzy riffs, a strong rhythm section and standout lead vocals are what this band is all about. The melodies are infectious and every track has something to offer fans of heavy rock. Let us have a look at their sophomore effort titled The Lord Knows.

“Lizard Kink� begins the disc with its fuzzed out guitar riffs and the amazing pipes of lead singer Alexander Sundqvist. And lead guitarist Jesper Sjödin is smoking at song’s end. Next is “End Of The Line� a straight ahead catchy rocker followed by the riveting “Marijuana Trench� where layers of guitar and assorted chug bring to mind Maiden and Sabbath, completely compelling and truly hypnotic, transporting the listener to the land of psychedelic fuzz. This is riff building at its finest. The bass playing of Adam Nordin also deserves special mention as his presence is superb here.

The fiery fuzz drenched heaviness of “Pentagram� and the unrelenting razor sharp riffing in “Roberro Bobbero� with its cool psychedelic breakdown are more album highlights.

The Lord Knows is a top notch offering from one of the best stoner/heavy rock bands around right now. Absolutely recommended!
