Venus 5: March Of The Venus 5

The easiest comparison point here, at least to my ears, is The Warning, but with a stronger push into metal territory and a much heavier reliance on layered vocal harmonies.

It becomes clear very quickly what Venus 5 is aiming for. This is epic, melody driven metal built for big stages, with massive choruses and a polished sound that leans into accessibility without fully abandoning its edge. The title track “March Of The Venus 5” sets that tone right away, followed by songs like “Like A Witch” and “Set Me Free” which showcase the band’s ability to deliver hooks that stick almost instantly.

The real strength of the album is in those harmonies. This is not just multiple singers sharing space, this is a collective sound, and when everything locks in, especially in the first half, the results are genuinely powerful. Tracks like “Faraway” and “Surrender” reinforce that identity with strong melodic lines and that arena ready energy the band clearly thrives on.

At the same time, nothing here feels particularly new. The songwriting stays comfortably within the boundaries of the genre, and while that makes the album easy to get into, it also becomes its main limitation. After a very strong first half, the second half starts to feel a bit too similar, with fewer moments that truly stand apart.

That is where the risk lies. In a crowded female fronted metal scene, playing it this safe can make a band blend in, even when the execution is this solid.

Still, March Of The Venus 5 does what it sets out to do, and it does it well. Strong melodies, polished production, and a clear identity built around vocal chemistry carry this record from start to finish… cheers!
