The Crystal Teardrop: ...Is Forming

Released in 2025, …Is Forming marks the full-length debut of UK garage and psychedelic rockers The Crystal Teardrop, a band already on the radar after their 2024 single "By The River." Put Jefferson Airplane, early Rolling Stones, The Doors, and the trippier sides of The B-52s and The Bangles into a blender, and you get The Crystal Teardrop as the resulting smoothie.

The band isn’t out to reinvent the wheel, and they don’t need to. What they deliver instead is a faithful and heartfelt tribute to late 60s psychedelic garage rock, a sound that feels authentic and lovingly crafted. The journey is short but sweet, immersive and trippy, carried by Hammond organ, sitar, and those unmistakable Rickenbacker textures. All of it provides the perfect backdrop for Alexandra’s vocals, which cut through with clarity and charm.

Highlights are easy to spot. "The Rain Parade" opens like a technicolor haze, "Two Hearts" and "Into The Unknown" showcase the band’s melodic instincts, while "Stealing Suggestions" digs deeper into that swirling psychedelic vibe. The title track "…Is Forming" feels like the band’s calling card, balancing energy and atmosphere in equal measure.

Overall, this debut is more than just a curiosity. It’s a statement of intent, a goal well achieved by a young band who clearly know their roots and play with conviction.
