Lights of Vimana: Neopolis

Lights Of Vimana's debut album Neopolis is a blend of dark, atmospheric doom metal and melancholic beauty. The band's unique sound is characterized by the interplay between harsh and clean vocals, sludgy riffs, and atmospheric synth layers. Dèhá's vocals seamlessly transition between clean and harsh tones, adding depth to the band's sound.

Jeremy Lewis's guitar work is a highlight, with expansive heavy riffs and well-crafted solos that complement the band's atmospheric soundscapes, and he is also in charge of playing bass. Riccardo Conforti's ambient synth layers provide a cinematic quality, reminiscent of Pink Floyd and early Porcupine Tree, and he is also responsible for the drumming... and drones.

The album unfolds as a slow burn, with each of the five tracks contributing to the overall atmosphere. "Nowhere" stands out with its hauntingly beautiful arrangement, featuring soaring guitar solos and atmospheric synths. "Endure" is notable for Nicole Fiameni's guest vocals, which add a new layer of emotional depth to the song. "Real" showcases the band's ability to craft heavy, sludgy riffs and introspective lyrics. The title track "Neopolis" embodies the band's atmospheric and cinematic sound, while "Remember Me" is a melancholic closer with a haunting vocal performance from Dèhá.

Overall, Neopolis is a promising debut that showcases Lights Of Vimana's unique approach to doom metal. With its blend of heavy riffs, atmospheric synths, and emotive vocals, this album is sure to appeal to fans of atmospheric and sludge doom metal... cheers!
