It’s easy to forget when listening to so many electric guitar players, how powerful the acoustic guitar is in the right hands. I was lucky enough to see Kyran Daniel at the historic Caffe Lena in Saratoga NY this past Saturday and was blown away.
Live at Melbourne Recital Center is a beautifully produced solo performance from 2023. The opener “Like the Night Itself” is energetic and powerful, and the technique on display is dazzling. A more atmospheric/ethereal quality dominates “Noelle”. You’ll find plenty of variety throughout the six tracks, all are captivating and beautiful.
Daniel has studied with famed guitarist Tommy Emmanuel and is a Berklee College of Music graduate. He is a sought after producer/songwriter, but in 2022 decided to return to his work as a solo artist/performer. I highly recommend catching one of his live performances; he has a commanding stage presence and adds a personal touch with his stories behind the music. Daniel is working on his next solo album Like the Night Itself which is scheduled to be released this year.
