Bonfire: Higher Ground

Bonfire's 2025 album Higher Ground is a testament to the band's enduring legacy in the hard rock and heavy metal scene. As the sole founding member still fronting the band, guitarist Hans Ziller's influence is evident throughout the album. The music is a perfect blend of melodic hard rock and heavy metal, with nuances of power metal in the rhythmic section and vocals.

The album's sound is reminiscent of 80's era Scorpions, late-era Saxon, and Glam Metal bands like Warrant and Whitesnake, but with a modern twist, that same modern twist that acts like Axel Rudi Pell bring to their later releases. Ziller's guitar work is exceptional, with contagious riffs, amazing leads, and addictive solos. The rest of the band, including bassist Ronnie Parkes, guitarist Frank Pané, drummer Fabio Alessandrini, and vocalist Dyan Mair, complement Ziller's skills perfectly.

Standout tracks include the heavy "I Will Rise", the catchy and contagious "I Died Tonight", the power ballad "When Love Comes Down", the Glam Metal influenced "Fallin'", the great rocker "Spinnin' In The Black", and the title track "Higher Ground". With a catalog of over 20 albums, Bonfire has consistently delivered high-quality material, and Higher Ground is no exception.
