Spiders: Sharp Objects

Spiders' fourth album, Sharp Objects, is a solid addition to the Swedish quartet's discography. With roots in bands like Witchcraft and Graveyard, it's no surprise that exceptional musicianship and top-notch guitar work are on full display. Ann-Sofie Hoyles' vocals and rhythm guitar, Olle Griphammar's bass, Ricard Harryson's drums, and John Hoyles' guitars come together seamlessly.

The album's strengths lie in its ability to pay tribute to the classic 70's hard rock scene while maintaining a fresh, modern sound. Tracks like "What's Your Game (Miss Insane)?" (Ramones-inspired), "Fun In The Sun" (Stooges-esque), and "Rock And Roll Band" (Heart-influenced) showcase the band's versatility and range.

Other standout moments include the Blondie-style "Too Hard For You", the raunchy "Mess With My Emotions", the catchy "Sweet Boy", and the Rolling Stones-inspired "Schizoid". While the album may not break new ground, it's a testament to Spiders' ability to craft infectious, hard-rocking tunes that will appeal to fans of the genre.
