Wolvserpent: Aporia: Kala: Ananta
Wolvserpent's latest, an EP with a single 40 minute track, is dark and melancholy, a rich musical experience full of texture, innovation, and power. The band is known for the way it blends a range of styles, including folk, classical, doom, black, and drone into a challenging and intelligent musical atmosphere. For me, Brittany McConnell's violin playing on this release somehow managed to draw all these elements together in beautiful and haunting ways. With each listen, I followed the violin into the musical darkness and let it guide me through the three movements of this piece, allowing it to lead me all the way to its dark and powerful conclusion. Highly recommended.
