Various Artists: Electric Gathering

Electric Gathering (Anchorage Records) is a Guitar instrumental CD featuring music from unsigned and undiscovered talent, as well as more well known artists. This compilation gathers artists from all of over the world, such as the USA, UK, Finland, Japan, Israel and Argentina and also features a vast array of musical styles.

The 15 track album showcases highly respected players like ex-Megadeth shredder, Chris Poland, whose entry, "Hip Hop Karma" is a funky little romp that lets him flex his guitar muscles. The super terrific and criminally underrated, Jeff Kollman (Glenn Hughes/Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats), twists his incredible tone and chops around "Shedding Skin", while Michael Hampton (Parliament Funkadelic) tears it up on "Club Metalfunkadelamack". Prog Metal fans will enjoy the shredfest that is "Patient Zero" by Markus Johansson where he throws in everything but the kitchen sink in his multi-stringed tune.

If you are a fan of Instrumental Guitar music, then Electric Gathering offers a little something for everyone. A little Jazzy, a little Funky, a tad Metal with different flavors thrown in between to round everyone's musical palette. Playing styles also range from the understated to the overblown, so again there is a little taste for each type of guitar fan.
