Out of the Bronx, NY comes a young melodic death metal band that shows with this EP that they mean business. This four song disc really highlights a band that has taken it's time where it matters most and that is in the songwriting. All four selections on the disc are well constructed with a certain feel that leans toward the epic thanks to their use of keyboards. The best example of this is the song "Divide The Hive" which is for my money the best of the disc and should be the song that draws the attention of the record labels.
What I would call the other stand out on this album is the last song "Regain The Fury". Here they delve into what is almost a progressive metal sound and feel. Added to that, guitarist Craig Storer lays down some blazing licks. He definitely saved his best shredding for last!
Their other ace up the sleeve is Kanon Kage who gives us a wide array of vocal styles over the course of this EP. Shrieks, growls, howls and even some honest to God actually singing shows that Kanon has a wide arsenal of weapons at his disposal.
All in all this is a very good effort and I will look forward to hearing their next release. They do show that they are not afraid to expand into many genres and I would suggest they keep doing so and make sure that they don't get repetitive with their sound.
