Grey Skies fallen has been around for sometime already. Some digging in their history gave away a demo published back in 1997. We cannot speak of newcomers to the scene here.
Along Came Life is an CD(EP) with 4 tunes in the Heavy progressive genre, with a touch of blackmetal/ doom metal maybe.
The style of this EP lays in heavy prog, and I cannot say I find it not worth listening to, contrary the music is entertaining and well played. Most of the time with clean/clear vocals. The occasional growling is not hurting the songs, it more or less turns them into completion.
Still it strikes me as strange that a band with such strength and strong music has not been able to release more than 3 full length albums over more than a decade. Or this must be because the individual members only want to release outstanding material.
From that point of view I can understand it, because you cannot get much better than they produce it here. Almost everything fits in this production.
The release of the album to date is still pending because of artwork problems. If this comes out and is available in stores, do not hesitate and listen to it. You will be pleasantly surprised.
