Nekropsy: Redemption Execution

Am I glad this album lasts only a painful 26 minutes! This American trio has recorded what I would qualify as one of the worst CDs I've heard in quite some time.

It actually started pretty well with a short instrumental and clean arpeggios. Then, the fast and relentless extreme metal with the annoying tonalities are aggressively hurting you ear drums almost endlessly up until the end. Nekropsy is some sort of thrashy grind and death metal band. You have some upfront growls, backed by grinding harsh ones and a pounding drum machine. The latter is almost ok. Then, you have a shy guitar playing with an utmost annoying high pitch tone. To make matters ever worst, the bass was also given an annoying buzzing high pitch in many occasions. This is too bad since the guitar player is pretty good and he's able to create tasty arpeggios, leads as well as decently crunching riffs. This trio is tight, sometimes intricate but often as un-melodic as possible with a hint of a technical edge. This results in 26 minutes of un-melodic thrashy death grind death metal hurting your eardrums with an annoying sound production. Does this sound terrible enough to you?

If this band is ever to continue, please get a real drummer, a producer; bring the guitar player upfront, being the best musician, scratch the grind crap and inject harmonies in your songwriting. For now though, avoid getting too close to this disc.
