Returning on their longship and venturing into battle once more is the mighty German Viking metal band Varg. These metal warriors are equipped to strike a fury of lethal musical blows with Blutaar, Varg's latest release of destructive pagan metal.
Varg begins with the sounds of "Wolfsmond", the precursor for that glorious battle that will ensue once the guitars of "Viel Feind Viel Ehr" commence. So look out as Varg attacks, for Blutaar isn't an album for the weak, as the music of Varg strikes without mercy.
Blutaar is a metal release that is full of clout, as Varg let fly with explosive metal riffs, impactful drumming and volatile vocals. Their enemies don't stand a chance against the metal aggression of songs like "Zeichen der Zeit", when vocalist and guitarist Freki, bass player and backup vocalist Managarm, guitarist Hati and drummer Fenier cut loose, and many are wise and retreat with haste. Those that are foolish enough to stay and fight are quickly decimated, being no matchup for Varg's punishing metal, as the band's music shows no mercy.
So as "Blutdienst II" closes Blutaar and the smoke clears Varg have once again been triumphant, conquering their enemy as they leave a trail of heavy metal annihilation, and then raising their guitars as they claim a well deserved victory with their new CD Blutaar.
