Here's the 2004 live release from Poland's Hate, titled The Litanies of Satan, now reissued and remastered by Metal Mind Productions. Never heard of Hate? Don't feel bad. These guys are certainly no Behemoth, Vader, or Decapitated, though this is a pretty decent death metal release. Unfortunately Metal Mind did not include any information in this bare bones set as to where it was recorded and when, but it's a solid platter of fairly technical death metal nontheless. With 17 songs clocking in at under 54 minutes, expect lots of short tunes here that rampage along for 2-4 minutes then end abruptly, but there's a good amount to sink your teeth into in this set. Tracks such as "The Scrolls", "Hex", and "The Sin Becomes" feature plenty of manic blast beats, brutal, often times technical guitar work, and some very decent growls & grunts from Adam The First Sinner. The band even throw in a cool cover of Slayer's "Postmortem", proving that Vader are not the only Polish death metal band infatuated with the thrash legends.
Sound-wise, this live album carries some pretty good production qualities, the guitars, drums, and vocals all punchy and clear, and though the material is nothing original, Hate are good players and they give it their all here. The digipack is pretty sparse as I mentioned earlier, with no info on the event itself, no lyrics, no essay, just a band photo collage and track listing.
