Slough Feg: Hardworldorder

Slough Feg and Bible Of The Devil aren't the only two good metal bands in America these days but they sure as heckfire are two of the best and Slough Feg further cements its reputation with this 13-song offering to the gawds of goodness, replete with the boogie butted opening cut "The Return Of Dr. Universe," the rawk almighty of "Tiger! Tiger!" the epic-y title cut. There's more raucous goodness to be had, via "Frankfurt-Hahn Airport Blues," "Insomnia" and "Whirling Vortex." These dudes get major props not only for having some of the best guitar harmonies on recent record but for also having a dude who actually sings (Michael Scalzi). The Horslips cover ("Dearg Doom") doesn't hurt but it's the cover of Manilla Road's (featuring my boy Mark "The Shark" Shelton) "Street Jammer" that casts the mark of the Feg upon my heart for all eternity. Thank the gods for thee, Slough Feg. May the kingdom, the power and the glory be yours forever more.
