Robert Anbian & The Unidentified Flying Quartet: S/T

Straight out of the San Francisco underground comes poet Robert Anbian backed by a crew of musicians known as The Unidentified Flying Quartet. Anbian recites his relaxed, laid back prose perfectly overtop an eclectic assortment of acoustic and electronic jazz similar in style at times to Herbie Hancocks Headhunters. His voice crackles with a midnight vibe that at times makes you wonder that if Kerouac or Burroughs were still alive, perhaps they would they be tapping into the same source of magic and energy. The music on this disc made me want to grab a beret, grow a goatee, sip my espresso and stay in on a Sunday morning and do nothing more than watch the rain fall languidly down the window.
