Volt: Rörhät

This German trio has, as they say, some good ideas. Too bad they aren't all good. There's plenty of noisy, sploogy stuff going on during tracks such as "Hospital In Wales," "Praecox" and the like, but none of it ever really adds up to much more than the noise being brought by hundreds of other bands that have somehow managed to reconcile a love of Shellac and Ten Grand with a love of Metallica and At The Gates. Not that Volt sounds like any or all (save maybe Shellac and TG) of those bands. It's still indie enough not to be full-blown metal and just indie enough to leave this band sounding a little too generic and scattered for its own good. Decent but hardly memorable.
