Grave have practically been a Swedish death metal institution since the late 80's, helping form what has been called the "Stockholm sound" of furiously heavy, technical extreme metal. Enraptured is the band's first DVD, a live set filmed in Warsaw, Poland in August of 2006 in support of their album When Rapture Comes, and features a lengthy set of over 15 Grave classics old and new. Quality-wise this is great stuff, as the camera work and sound are excellent, and although Grave are not the most photogenic and visually stunning groups ever to grace the stage, the band delivers the goods as far as crushing death metal is concerned. Classic death metal tracks like "Into the Grave", "And Here I Die", "Bullets Are Mine", and "Deformed" quake the earth with brutal aggression, while the seething audience enjoys ever second of it. With the effective camera angles, close ups, and multitude of shots in and around the mosh pit, you almost feel like you are at the show. Nothing like an "old school" extreme metal show!
In addition to the main concert, there's an informative interview with guitarists Ola Lindgren & Jonas Torndal (who speak very eloquent English), who talk candidly about the history of the band and their place in Swedish death metal history, additional live footage and videos, biography, discography, and photo gallery. At close to two hours worth of content, this is the DVD package that Grave fans have been waiting for.
